Book perfume February 16, 2007

This is weird. But that also makes it fun. Perfume that smells like an old book! The maker of this scent, Christopher Brosius, loves his books. He describes the odour of his product as: “English Novel taken from a Signed First Edition of one of my very favorite novels, Russian & Moroccan leather bindings, worn cloth and a hint of wood polish”. He made four varieties of his “In the library” scent. It comes as Perfume Absolute 15 ml and 2 ml, a Water Perfume and a Home Spray. You can find out more about it, and order it if you dare, here.

I don’t wear perfume, but I wonder what a man’s version of this would smell like? I mean old books turn me on so . . .

I know! (Sort of an Axe-effect.) I am afraid this scent might smell a bit chemical.

Like the spray you use to mimic the scent of a ‘real’ christmas tree… Jegh. It smelled of any thing BUT christmas tree. It found it’s way to our toilet to function as a air freshner. Because some smells are worse than the one of the spray…

Is that for real? I’m not sure that I would want to smell like old books, but the home spray would be useful for people creating new libraries that want to make them seem old. 🙂

  4. Shopping for perfumes or personal fragrances can be a daunting task, particularly if it’s for a friend or lover. Obviously online at Myshopping.com.au you cannot compare the actual scent of different fragrances. But, once you have a fairly good idea of what you are looking for, you can compare the different offerings from different brands and vendors very easily. So, how do you know what you are looking for? The following simple steps will narrow the search down somewhat.

    Dear Friend,
I’m the one who is so fancy about the perfume.I would like to know the name of the chemical for long lasting fragrance.Which one should I put it into the perfume? Do you know about it?

Came across your blog post when i was doing some research on Franklin Library and Eastob Press Books. I know these are big with collectors (my Dad liked them) but are they really considered “collectible” in your opinion. Also they sometimes state they are first editions – but how could they be? Aren’t they high end reprints? Anyway nice blog and I am going to forward the link to my dad.

Where do we buy this scent!!!

The Easton and Franklins USUALLY are leather-like reprints, but they also have contracted with some authors for permission to print the true first edtion of some books, signed as well. We have a few customers in our bookshop for these editions, and are happy to stock them whenever they’re offered to us.

know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website looks
weird when browsing from my iphone. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to correct
this problem. If you have any suggestions, please share.
