Another invisible book shelf January 8, 2007

Filed under: Furniture — Kim @ 12:43 pm

This invisible book shelf is made by Sticklebook’s. It is quite strange. Studying the way the books are mounted, makes me wonder what it does to your books. Even though it looks quite nice. The books hang on the wall because you press them into some sort of ‘teeth’. The manufacturer says the concept is totally fall proof. If you have any experience with this, please post.

  1. According to the FAQ on their site, “Sticklebook’s comb will leave a small mark on the ends of the book leaves but has been carefully designed to ensure as minimal marking as possible.”

It makes me nervous to see the words “book” and “teeth” in the same sentence. I wouldn’t buy this.

  3. Simon Says:

I wouldn’t use it for any books I wanted to keep forever. Which really means that I wouldn’t buy one, either. But it does look good.

  4. Darmok Says:

It definitely looks cool, but yeah, I wouldn’t want my books anywhere near it. Plus I need to be able to easily access my books and I don’t think this would be convenient.

I would never use it too. Maybe for phonebooks, but not my ‘normal books’. But it is my ‘job’ to inform you about all sorts of book goodies. That’s why I mentioned a little, not to blunt, ‘warning’ about it. I don’t want to get sued by the manifacturer, haha.
