The science of reading July 23, 2007

Filed under: Books about Books, Miscellaneous — kimbooktu @ 9:29 am

I came accros this Wiki article on reading. I found it quite interesting. Did you know there are five methods/ways of reading? I did not. At the end of the article you find some links to other Wiki’s that might prove interesting. Click here to read it. Have fun!

(PS. There is also a very expensive psychology book called “The Science of Reading. You can learn more about it and look inside here.)

Hello! I’m an avid reader and I just love your site. In conncetion with this post, I’d like to bring up “How to Read a Book” by Mortimer J. Adler and Charles van Doren. It discusses the different types of reading, but in less scientific terms, and suggests methods of reading for every kind of books in every kind of field and for every kidn of need. It’s now one of my new handbooks!

    Just wanted to share. :)
